Hi everyone,
I hope that you are enjoying the Spring sunshine today. As we head into what should be the Easter holidays parents might feel the need to maintain a little routine for their children while we continue to Stay at Home safely.
Here are some links and ideas for parents for some fun activities to try with your child at home.
Art for Kids Hub has been a huge hit with my class, I have shared a different video each week with instructions on how to draw a variety of pictures and cartoons. They also have a weekly challenge posted every Saturday that you can become involved with and share your child’s artwork on social media if you wish. Art for Kids Hub is an ideal activity with your family, you don’t need any fancy art supplies, the contents of your child’s pencil case would be enough. But in my case, any excuse for some new markers and stationery.
Krokotak is another craft site that uses coloured paper and the contents of a pencil case to create 3d crafts. I have shared different videos with my class for this also. There are lots of lovely Easter craft ideas that you can create and share with loved ones you won’t get to visit over Easter. Krokotak also have a printable section with mandalas and other colouring pages for you and your family.
STEM challenges have also become another hit with my class each week. Over Easter follow Playful Classroom on Instagram as she shares a different STEM challenge each day. These are available to download for free from Playful Classroom store on Mash.ie I am a huge fan of Playful Classroom and can’t wait to see these STEM challenges.
Finally, don’t forget to get active with your child. Channels such as Joe Wicks, The Fyffes Squad, Oti (from Strictly) all have daily videos to get you and your family active. Makes a change from TikTok dances too.
Stay Safe everyone
