Diary of an Isolating Teacher Day 18

Hi everyone,

I hope you are enjoying the lovely sunshine this bank holiday weekend. Strange Bank Holiday weekend in Lockdown but from Friday’s announcement there is a timeline to plan for all going well.

As I said on Instagram this morning, I didn’t even open my laptop or school planner yesterday. And I don’t feel one bit guilty. I have done some work today to try have a laptop free day tomorrow too.

Since Distance Learning began myself and some colleagues have been planning family challenges each day. Taking inspiration from some of the many wonderful suggestions on blogs, facebook and Instagram. This week I made a Padlet of Active Home Week suggestions and we used that as our theme for Family Challenges. Now I’m going to theme my family challenges each week.

This week our theme is Maths Eyes, following on from the success of Maths Eyes during Maths Week, but I’m going to focus on a particular strand every day. Beginning with Number on Tuesday. I made yet another Padlet to share with the parents where they can add photos and comments during their Maths Eyes Hunt. Children in the family can work together to take photos and maybe even App Smash them by using lots of Apps to add text to their photos. Let’s see how it goes.

I am looking out at a wonderful sunset red sky this evening, so I’m hoping the weather will be just as nice tomorrow, fingers crossed. Enjoy your bank holiday Monday everyone.

Stay Safe
